Before Sunrise

This movie is kinda old because it was first shown on the year 1995. I bought it from Video City for only 35 pesos but it was just actually a replacement for the movie The Lakehouse, starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

Before Sunrise is a bit boring movie because almost the whole time the two main characters who are Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy were just talking, sharing their thoughts on different issues like love, family, women and others. But the story is good because these two people are strangers who met on the train. They were able to get to talk to each other when Julie transferred a seat after irritated by two couples who fight each other. And that’s how it started, they began to be interested with each other.

And when the train reached almost reached Vienna, Ethan was able to made a decision. To invite July to come with him and leave before Sunrise. Together they visited and toured places of Vienna and fell for each other but when the time comes that they part for each other they promised that they will meet after 6 months.

Ohhh…gosssh…im excited to watch for the part 2 of this movie. As a rating, i give it 3/5!

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

On my movies to be watched I am Legend, The Quiet, The Sleeping Dictionary and Valentine had entries already. This time around it will be the National Treasure: Book of Secrets. The movie was a sequel to the 2004 National treasure who’s lead role was performed by no other than Nicolas Cage, one of my favorite Hollywood actors.

It’s the same thing, finding a treasure but i don’t like this movie that much. I prefer the first movie because I like the action scenes, the thrills and all that stuff. I was not really contented watching the movie. I was looking for something more especially when they experienced the traps and the flooding water. On the contrary, I like the fact that Ben sacrifice himself just to save others but if you are asking if he die in this movie of course not. He has even cleared his family’s name with the discovery and was cleared of all charges when the President told everyone that Ben saved his life.

Ratings: 3/5!

I am Legend

I find this movie not good, a bit boring and not scary at all though it has a good moral.

Here’s a short description of this movie taken from Wikipedia:

Will Smith stars in the film directed by Francis Lawrence, released on December 14, 2007. This movie also deviates from the original novel. The infection is caused by a virus originally intended to cure cancer. However, some vampiric elements are retained, such as sensitivity to UV light and attraction to blood.

The Quiet

I’ve paid 70 pesos as a fine for this movie because it was overdue. I just borrowed the VCD in a local video house. Gosshh…but its worth watching anyway. I super like the plot and the two main cast who were Elisha Cutbert from the famous tv series 24 and Camilla Belle.

Camilla as Dot was pretending to be deaf and mute in this movie. The family of Elisha has a dark secret. When Dot was adopted she has to deal with this issues. She become as if the sounding board of the problems of everbody.

I am not good at giving the summary and review so just check it out here.  For the ratings it would be 5/5! Congratulations!

On Getting Old

Getting old, everybody worries that especially when no one will take good care of you or no one will attend to your needs. It really exists in fact I have able to witness that many times in our neighborhood, relatives and some friends who shared the sad experiences of their grandmother and grandfather.

Their sons and daughter are only good at them on those times when they are strong but now that they are becoming old and senile they were treated as if they don’t belong to a certain family and it is just so frustrating.

So it would be better to send our grandmothers and grandfathers to a nursing home that you can assure they will be taken care of at its best. A place where they feel as if they are at home and they belong than having them at physically at your own home but no one is attending them.

Sleeping Dictionary

I just got my membership card from Video City(Buhangin) a week ago and the first 6 movies that i borrowed were Memoirs of Geisha, Step-up, Sleeping Dictionary, The Terminal, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and 13 going 30. Of all them, Sleeping Dictionary is what i find most beautiful to watch. I like the story and i super like the main characters and of course, the romance and all that passion. Whew! Anyways, to give you an additional info about Sleeping Dictionary (aside from those that you will find in the internet) I have here a short overview.

Jessica Alba speaks the language of seduction in this tantalizing story of forbidden loveset agains the backdrop of the steamy jungles of 1930’s Sarawak.

A beautiful tribeswoman (Alba) becomes both concubine and language tutor to a young English colonial (Hugh Dancy), and in the heat of the jungle their passion grows into a forbidden love affair. But the lovers are forced to separate after they are threatened defying duty and tradition. When the young man returns a year later with his new bride, the heat of passion reignites and intensifies as secrets surface that are as deep and dark as the jungles that those who keep them inhabit. - from the text found on the VCD

I give this movie 5/5! Congratulations!

Valentine

I bought 10 original VCDs in a video store because they are on sale on those old movies that they have and Valentine is one of the movie i have chosen and watched. Looking at the cover of the VCD and reading the text on it, somehow i was intrigued. More intrigue because Valentines Day is fast approaching. Hehehhehehehe….

Anyways, this movie was first shown last 2001. 7 years had already passed? Where was i that time that i wasn’t able to watch this movie? Good thing that i was not able to watch it in the big screen because it would be more of a waste of money. Am i that mean? It was not really worth watching. Not scary and i don’t like the story at all. Sort of shallow and i regret buying the VCD.
