Fashion Eyeglasses for Benjamin

I just finished watching the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. And I really love that movie. It has a lot of twist, unique and very inspiring.

Aside from that, it also made me think of what if people will grow oppositely to what it is in the usual. Yikes! Imagine, at the age of 2 - Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) was already wearing eyeglasses and he looks like 90 years old. Hmmn…Where did he purchase it? It made him looked older. He should have wear an eyeglasses that is fashionable just like my favorite high fashion eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. It is even very affordable. A lot of my friends were convinced on How You Can Start Spending Smart so they also grabbed those $ 8 Rx eyeglasses. Cool!

Cinderella Man (2005)

Hi guys, I am sorry for making this blog inactive for the past few months. As i’ve said, I have been very busy with my career. The more it is when I finally have a new boyfriend. Hehehehehe… I went to their boarding house last week. We’ve already decided to spend time with each other only on weekends because we both have careers to take care of and of course our responsibilities with our families. We’re both breadwinners by the way. When I am there, I usually bring food. I love it when we will eat together, watch movies together and more importantly sleep together. (Hehehehe.. naughty me)..

Anyways, since this is a movie blog I am sharing to you one of the movies we’ve watched on Cable. It is entitled Cinderella Man. Main characters are Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Paul Giamatti and Craig Bierko. Just from the title itself one can say that it is really related to the story of Cinderella but there’s a difference of course. He is a guy, this is a true story showing what he had been through in life more importantly on his career as a boxer.

Here is the plot summary:

During the Great Depression, a common-man hero, James J. Braddock–a.k.a. the Cinderella Man–was to become one of the most surprising sports legends in history. By the early 1930s, the impoverished ex-prizefighter was seemingly as broken-down, beaten-up and out-of-luck as much of the rest of the American populace who had hit rock bottom. His career appeared to be finished, he was unable to pay the bills, the only thing that mattered to him–his family–was in danger, and he was even forced to go on Public Relief. But deep inside, Jim Braddock never relinquished his determination. Driven by love, honor and an incredible dose of grit, he willed an impossible dream to come true. In a last-chance bid to help his family, Braddock returned to the ring. No one thought he had a shot. However Braddock, fueled by something beyond mere competition, kept winning. Suddenly, the ordinary working man became the mythic athlete. Carrying the hopes and dreams of the disenfranchised on his shoulders, Braddock rocketed through the ranks, until this underdog chose to do the unthinkable: take on the heavyweight champ of the world, the unstoppable Max Baer, renowned for having killed two men in the ring. Marrying the Mafia

According to Wikipedia, this film sold 5,200,001 tickets, becoming 14th highest Korean films-ticket selling film. For the year of 2002 it was the highest-attended South Korean film, and the second highest-attended film (including international productions) in South Korea. Marrying Mafia was also an instant hit, beating out other 2002 film competitors such as Jail Breakers, The Way Home and Sex is Zero. So out from these information I’ve read I became so intrigue to watch this movie. All the more when I learned that Kim Jung-eun is the starring role.

But unfortunately, I didn’t like the movie. A bit dull and I am not satisfied with the comedy. It was kinda a waste of time watching Marrying the Mafia. I wonder what made this movie hit and high grossing. Is it because of gangster story or because of the cast and characters? Jaaahh…I don’t know, only them can tell.

Finding Nemo

I really want to watch Finding Nemo ever since i heard good reviews from this movie. I remember the first time i heard good remarks was when i had my first year of work as a tutor in a certain tutorial center. The whole family of my employer watched it and they had been saying that it was really a good movie not to mention the lessons you get from watching Finding Nemo.

Luckily, days ago i find out that our neighbor has a DVD of it so i borrowed and watched it. I know it is too late already to be watching Finding Nemo considering it was first shown way back 2003 but it is better than never. Hehehehehe…

Anyways, the movie is indeed beautiful. Though the story line is a bit simple but i really like the positive message it leaves to the audience. What is it? Well, it is the love of a father to his son and believing on what your son can do. Marlin (Nemo’s father) went through a lot before he was able to reach Sydney and find his son. On the other hand, Nemo was able to learn so many things by overcoming his fears.

One more thing i like about this movie was the voice of Nemo - so cute and adorable. Well, it was no other than Alexander Gould. He was 7 years old that time. I bet he is making tons of money out from this movie. By the way, Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres were also impressive as the voice of Marlin and Dory respectively.

The Art of Seduction

The Art of Seduction is a Korean Love Story and Romantic Comedy Movie. The two lead roles are Son Eon-jin ( from the famous A Moment to Remember and the Classic) and Song Il Gook (from Jumong). Hmmnn..they look good together.

Son Eon-jin’s character here is far way different from those two great movies I’ve mentioned. Her antics are superb and I was also surprised to see her dancing. She really has a knack and it is no doubt that you can consider her as a versatile actress. Song Il Gook was just okay, a lot of exposures were actually given to Song Eon-jins.

But I am not satisfied with the ending of the movie. I want more! I was expecting they will  present a very happy and nice ending but i was just wrong. It was just something okay.

Anyways, 3.7/5 for this movie!

Hannibal Rising

Last night, I watched this horror and thriller movie. The plot is pretty good though but I don’t like that Hannibal is taking a revenge with those people who cook and eat  his sister during the World War II. Well, i always go for movies that has good morale. I agree with what the inspector had said that he is now a monster.

Watching such movie was quite something for me because I am not really a fan of horror or thriller movies. Sometimes I would even closed my eyes on those scenes where he was killing brutally those men who ate her sister because of a terrible hunger. Imagine? And i was watching it alone at midnight. Hehehehee…

Anyways, there were five of them that he wants to kill but the movie only ends up to the 4rth or 5th person, I believe. This movie was the prequel to the Red Dragons and Silence of the Lambs. In the movie, Hannibal had an affair with her aunt Lady Murasaki Shikubi, who had helped him a lot. Hmmnn…I thought he would follow what Lady Murasaki told him which is to stop the revenge but I was wrong. He  really is a monster. He said, he already promised Mischa to revenge for what had happen to her - flesh to flesh.

The Scarlet Letter

A one of a kind movie which created a big impact why the late Lee Eun-ju committed suicide in the real life. Here is the summary of this movie:

A detective, his 3 girls & a murder case!

Complex emotional relationships and human nature’s darker sides are explored in this captivating suspense drama about a cop whose lust for love threatens to get in the way of his professional life.

Ki-hoon is guy that doesn’t mind an erotic adventure. Even though he is married to charming and beautiful Soo-hyun, he engages in a passionate affair with his wife’s friend night club singer Ka-hee.

As if things weren’t complicated enough, he suddenly starts being attracted to murder suspect Kyung-hee whom he earlier believed to be involved in the killing of her husband.

Can Ki-hoon finally overcome all the irresistible temptations he encounters in his life ? These and other questions will be revealed in The Scarlet Letter.

Cast and Characters:

Suk-kyu Han - Ki-hoon
Eun-ju Lee - Ga-hee
Hyeon-a Seong - Kyeong-hie
Ji-won Uhm - Su-hyeon

I give this movie 10/10! I just hope Lee Eun-ju didn’t let herself be affected by the criticisms she got from this movie because of her explicit sex scenes. It made this movie great because of her acting and I believe those scenes are apt for the movie, it is not something to be considered as pornographic. Maybe Korea is still not open to this kind of movie, this is just an ordinary movie in Hollywood you know. There is nothing wrong with this movie in fact you can get a lot of morale/lessons.

iL Mare

I am a frequent visitor of Crunchyroll because I both love movies and animes. Two nights ago, I watched Il Mare. Got interested with this movie  when I found out that it is quite the same with the Lakehouse. I borrowed a VCD of the Lakehouse before but wasn’t able to see it because I got busy with our thesis. The reason why I watched Il Mare is that i was thinking this is a good substitute to the Lakehouse when I wasn’t able to grab or buy a VCD of it. I read a lot of good comments from the internet about the movie and even from my friends.

Anyways, the lead role for this movie is the lady from My Sassy Girl and Windstruck. So basing from those two good movies I was really expecting that this one is also great. But I was wrong, the entire scene was all draggy and I am not satisfied with the ending. Though, it was a happy ending but I am stil looking for something. They shouldn’t have focused more on the scenes on the writing of letters but on the time when they will meet or after they have met.

100 Days with Mr. Arrogant

Just this early morning, I finished watching 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant. A romantic comedy movie from Korea. I just got bored and tired that was why i watched movie. It helps, sort of a remedy. Hehehehhe…

Anyways, i was having fun while watching this movie but I am a bit frustrated with the ending. It leaves me hanging. Where Hyung-jun (Kim Jaewon) and Kang Ha-yeong (Ha Ji Won) end up together? I don’t get its ending honestly. What the heck happen? Why is Ha Jin Won doing the same or exact thing when they first meet? But this time she is on the shoes of Hyung-jun but with a different guy. Argghh!

Why don’t you check it out guys and tell me what is your idea. It is a 3.5/5 movie for movie!

Read the Synopsis here.

A Moment to Remember

My friend, Grace requested me to stay at her boarding house to accompany her sister. She is actually out for this weekend for an outing. When I arrived at their place, Love2x and her friend were watching 200 Pounds of Beauty, a good Korean Movie also.

Afterwhich, she played another good movie entitled “A Moment to Remember”. I have actually seen this one before at the house of Sir James. I was watching alone at the wee hours that time, a bit sleepy that’s why I wasn’t able to appreciate the movie that much. Besides, this movie is just like 50 first dates. I was confused which one is the original.

Anyways, last night’s movie mood was great. I appreciate the movie so much and find it so nice compared before. I was touched and moved by their love story. It was just so awesome. How I wish I could find a guy such like him in the real world. I can’t help to admire  the character. He really loves her wife inspite of the fact that she is suffering from an alzheimer’s disease. Jahhhh…I cried most of the time.

I will now include this movie to one of my favorites. Hats off to the whole cast and to all the people behind this movie. There are numerous romantic lines in this movie. I will just have to play it again in order to have a copy of those good and romantic lines. Till next time!

Enjoy life and be in love! 10/10 for this movie!
